# 传-Ecc 10 ## 传10:1 死苍蝇使作香的膏油发出臭气;这样,一点愚昧,也能败坏智慧和尊荣。 Ecc 10:1 Dead flies make the perfumer’s ointment give off a stench; so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor. ## 传10:2 智慧人的心居右;愚昧人的心居左。 Ecc 10:2 “A wise man’s heart inclines him to the right, but a fool’s heart to the left.” ## 传10:3 并且愚昧人行路,显出无知,对众人说,他是愚昧人。 Ecc 10:3 “Even when the fool walks on the road, he lacks sense, and he says to everyone that he is a fool.” ## 传10:4 掌权者的心,若向你发怒,不要离开你的本位;因为柔和能免大过。 Ecc 10:4 “If the anger of the ruler rises against you, do not leave your place, for calmness will lay great offenses to rest.” ## 传10:5 我见日光之下,有一件祸患,似乎出于掌权的错误; Ecc 10:5 “There is an evil that I have seen under the sun, as it were an error proceeding from the ruler:” ## 传10:6 就是愚昧人立在高位;富足人坐在低位。 Ecc 10:6 “folly is set in many high places, and the rich sit in a low place.” ## 传10:7 我见过仆人骑马,王子象仆人在地上步行。 Ecc 10:7 “I have seen slaves on horses, and princes walking on the ground like slaves.” ## 传10:8 挖陷坑的,自己必掉在其中;拆墙垣的,必为蛇所咬。 Ecc 10:8 “He who digs a pit will fall into it, and a serpent will bite him who breaks through a wall.” ## 传10:9 凿开(或作“挪移”)石头的,必受损伤;劈开木头的,必遭危险。 Ecc 10:9 “He who quarries stones is hurt by them, and he who splits logs is endangered by them.” ## 传10:10 铁器钝了,若不将刃磨快,就必多费气力;但得智慧指教,便有益处。 Ecc 10:10 “If the iron is blunt, and one does not sharpen the edge, he must use more strength, but wisdom helps one to succeed.” ## 传10:11 未行法术以先,蛇若咬人,后行法术也是无益。 Ecc 10:11 “If the serpent bites before it is charmed, there is no advantage to the charmer.” ## 传10:12 智慧人的口,说出恩言;愚昧人的嘴,吞灭自己。 Ecc 10:12 “The words of a wise man’s mouth win him favor, but the lips of a fool consume him.” ## 传10:13 他口中的言语,起头是愚昧;他话的末尾,是奸恶的狂妄。 Ecc 10:13 “The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness, and the end of his talk is evil madness.” ## 传10:14 愚昧人多有言语,人却不知将来有什么事;他身后的事,谁能告诉他呢? Ecc 10:14 “A fool multiplies words, though no man knows what is to be, and who can tell him what will be after him?” ## 传10:15 凡愚昧人,他的劳碌使自己困乏,因为连进城的路他也不知道。 Ecc 10:15 “The toil of a fool wearies him, for he does not know the way to the city.” ## 传10:16 邦国啊,你的王若是孩童,你的群臣早晨宴乐,你就有祸了! Ecc 10:16 “Woe to you, O land, when your king is a child, and your princes feast in the morning!” ## 传10:17 邦国啊!你的王若是贵胄之子,你的群臣按时吃喝,为要补力,不为酒醉,你就有福了! Ecc 10:17 “Happy are you, O land, when your king is the son of the nobility, and your princes feast at the proper time, for strength, and not for drunkenness!” ## 传10:18 因人懒惰,房顶塌下;因人手懒,房屋滴漏。 Ecc 10:18 “Through sloth the roof sinks in, and through indolence the house leaks.” ## 传10:19 设摆筵席,是为喜笑;酒能使人快活,钱能叫万事应心。 Ecc 10:19 “Bread is made for laughter, and wine gladdens life, and money answers everything.” ## 传10:20 你不可咒诅君王,也不可心怀此念;在你卧房也不可咒诅富户;因为空中的鸟,必传扬这声音,有翅膀的,也必述说这事。 Ecc 10:20 “Even in your thoughts, do not curse the king, nor in your bedroom curse the rich, for a bird of the air will carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter.”
